Ulysees Curry

Ulysses Curry, Jr. has over three decades of hands-on experience including C-Suite management, underwriting, and portfolio management and has participated in the close of over $1 billion of structured debt and equity transactions to public and private companies, including venture and distressed enterprises.

As the Founder and Managing Member of Cogent Capital Strategies, LLC, he serves as a Sponsor and Investment Advisor to Special Purpose Investment Vehicles (“SPVs”) that aim to invest in disruptive companies across various sectors, with a focus on aerospace, energy, cleantech, and medical technologies. Ulysses is also an Associate Venture Partner at VU Venture Partners.

Ulysses previously served as Director and CFO at Accuray, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARAY), Inc. and Interim CEO of ZVUE Corporation (ZVUE: NASDAQ) and has provided corporate advisory through Cogent Growth Capital and investment banking through Ascendiant Capital. 

He has a strong background in underwriting and due diligence, having served as a Credit Officer with Bank of America, Citicorp, TransAmerica Capital, Xerox Credit Corp., Delage de Landen, and Union Bank of California. 

Mr. Curry holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a BA in Economics from Bishop College in Dallas, TX, and has previously held Series 7 and 63 FINRA licenses.
